Welcome Drink
A get-together welcome drink will take place for all registered participants on Wednesday, September 10th, at the conference venue at the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and will feature a selection of local traditional products, Douro wines and Port Wine cocktails. This welcome reception is included in all registration types.
Winery Tour and Congress Dinner
On Thursday September 11st, a winery tour (by bus) and congress dinner is planned at an extra cost of 40 € (early-bird registration) or 50 € (late registration) per person (accompanying persons can also participate).
The winery tour will take place at Favaios, located in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region, at one of the highest points of the Douro Valley. Close this village, in Quinta da Avessada, the participants will have the chance to enjoy the amazing views over the vineyards while tasting Port and Moscatel Wines, and spend some leisure time in the gardens while chatting with colleagues and gazing at the sunset. The participants will also have the opportunity to hear a short lecture about the entire traditional winemaking process of the Porto and Moscatel Wines in a guided tour to their wine cellars. In the end, it is reserved a Douro traditional dinner, accompanied by stories and live music.
Please note, the conference dinner needs to be booked during the registration process (the price includes the bus transfer).
Walking Tour
On Thursday afternoon, as an alternative to the congress dinner, attendees can participate in a walking tour from UTAD to Vila Real. Explore the charm of the city, uncover its hidden gems, and immerse yourself in its unique atmosphere. This experience costs 20 euros, lasts 2 to 2.5 hours, and is available for a minimum of 10 participants.
